Bookings
Bookings must be make by adults over 18 years of age.
We will always send you a confirmation of your booking. If you have selected a desired date and time on our contact form this does not guarantee your booking until we have sent you a confirmation.
It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they attend on the correct date, time and place for the classes or one to one training session according to the confirmation instructions.
If you are booking a class or package, booking confirms your attendance for the full duration. Please make every effort to attend each session. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible.
For Puppy School courses, puppies must be under 20 weeks of age on the date of the first session.
Fee's and Prices
With all bookings made directly with the trainer, you will receive an invoice for the service you have booked. The full fee must be paid at least 24 hours prior to the first session or first class by a method acceptable to companion coach. Failure to pay in this time may result in your booking being cancelled and the appointment being given to another client.
Price advertised at time of booking applies.
Accepted payment method for invoiced fees is electronic bank transfer. In authorised circumstances we may accept cheques or cash but this must be agreed prior to the first session or first class.
Companion Coach also uses booking systems such as Picktime and Puppy School Ltd which will send their own confirmation of booking and take payments at the time of booking through Paypal or other secure payment systems. Booking fee's may apply and must be paid by the client.
Equipment and Handling
Dogs should wear a flat collar or harness with a standard length clip lead to all sessions (no flexi/retractable leads please).
All training techniques used by Companion Coach are kind, fair and effective. Hayley is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and her training sessions abide by their Code of Practice – http://www.apdt.co.uk/about-apdt. As such, the use of choke chains, check chains, prong collars, aversive methods and manhandling are not permitted in classes and strongly discouraged at any other time.
If a client is using aversive or punitive training methods during any sessions they will be given a initial warning. If this continues both dog and owner will be asked to leave the class or the trainer will leave the one-to-one session and the client will not be entitled to a refund.
Health and Safety
All appointments must be attended by at least one adult over 18 years of age. Children and young adults under 18 years of age are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age. Parents/guardians are responsible for children attending at all times.
To attend a group session, owners must provide evidence that their dog is vaccinated and is up to date with boosters. If you are unsure about vaccinations please consult your vet directly. This is for the safety of your dog and therefore no exceptions can be made(NB: We do not consider homeopathic nosodes an acceptable alternative to conventional vaccines for young puppies.).
Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs in and around the training venue.
In a group session or a session taking place in a public outdoor area, all dogs must be kept under control and on a lead unless specifically requested otherwise by the trainer. Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times.
Please let us know immediately if your dog shows signs of illness or has been in contact with another dog infected with a contagious disease prior to a scheduled appointment. We also ask that you notify us if your bitch comes into season prior to a scheduled appointment.
We make every effort to ensure safety of both clients and dogs during group classes. By making a booking, you are accepting that participating in an activity with dogs, children and adults poses a risk of injury to yourself and your dog, and you agree to indemnify Companion Coach for all personal injury and damage to property owned by you while attending the training classes. You also agree to make any person who accompanies you to the class aware that they are also there at their own risk.
All instances of accident or injury must be reported to the trainer at the time they occurred.
In group sessions, please do not allow your dog to approach other dogs in class without asking first. Not all dogs will respond well to another dog moving into their personal space so we ask that you respect this and always ask before allowing your dog to greet another.
Digital Materials
All Companion Coach branded digital materials are the intellectual property of Companion Coach and are not to be reproduced in any way. It is not appropriate to film or photograph other attendees, their families or their dogs either in classes or via our online classes.
The trainer may ask to take photo's or video's of your dog for records, social media or marketing and advisements. If you agree verbally to the trainer taking photo's or video's of your dog then you are agreeing to these terms of use.
Packages
If you have paid for a package of multiple sessions, these sessions must be booking within 12 months of the first session.
Online Sessions
If you are attending online sessions, it is important that you ensure your technology and internet connection are sufficient for you to be able to attend the session and view any videos successfully. If your technology fails during a group class, it may be possible for the trainer to catch up with you at a time agreeable to you both, but this would be subject to the trainer's availability and cannot be guaranteed. If the trainer's technology fails and the trainer is unable to run a session, it will be rescheduled to a time to suit attendees.
Puppy School Classes
When booking a Puppy School course you are also agreeing to the Puppy School Terms and Conditions - https://www.puppyschool.co.uk/terms-and-conditions
